The season of pumpkin spice latte’s, cozy blankets, cool nights, and falling leaves is here! Autumn is my favorite time of year and while I am sad to see summer go, I am ecstatic that it’s time for football and apple pie!
Every year, I see those amazing “Fall Bucket Lists” of fun things to do as a couple or with your kids during the Fall Season. Every year I pin these lists on Pinterest, save them on my refrigerator, and vow before God and man that “This year, I am doing the Fall Bucket List!”.
And without fail, the Autumn comes and goes, and nothing on the Fall Bucket List gets done.
"Why, God, Why can't I accomplish the Fall Bucket List?"
If I’m being honest, life gets in the way. I own two business’, homeschool my son, take care of my home, and a zillion other responsibilities. I know you can relate. We are all so busy.
We all spend so much time getting through the daily responsibilities that we forget to live our lives.
So every year, I throw the Fall Bucket List away with tremendous guilt that I did nothing because “life” got in the way. I did nothing on the list because work got in the way. I did nothing on the list because responsibility got in the way.
I realized this year, more than any other, that life is so very short and the precious memories we make with our families are the ones that will carry us. The best things in life are the memories you make with the people you love.
My son will only be little for a little longer. He won’t always appreciate hay rides and corn mazes. He won’t always want to hold my hand while we trick-or-treat. He won’t always want to carve pumpkins.
I don’t want to waste any more time or lose any more of my son’s childhood. So this year, I am not creating another bucket list. Bucket lists, to me, are things that get done eventually.
This year I am starting THE FALL FAMILY CHALLENGE.
I challenge myself to get out there and start making memories by LIVING LIFE!
Starting today, September 5, 2016 and going until Thanksgiving Day, I am going to experience this beautiful season of change with a FALL FAMILY CHALLENGE and I truly hope you join me!
Every week, every day, every weekend . . . however you want to initiate it in your family . . . we aregoing to MAKE MEMORIES with our families.
We can share our photos and experiences on Felicity Bee’s Facebook and Instagram using the hashtag #FallFamilyChallenge.
Please feel free to add to this list with your families. I only listed 20 things so that it is manageable. I am excited to start the Fall Family Challenge and I can’t wait to hear how you and your families are drawing closer this season!
