Happy April! It is Easter month, and we are once again reminded of the death and resurrection of our Lord Jesus. He took our sin so we could be healed and set free. (Isaiah 53:5)
He rose from the dead on the third day, and now raises us up with Him to sit with Him in Heavenly places.
He has given us a brand new life!
Ephesians 2:4-7 says, "But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus."
NEW LIFE is the theme of this month's Inscribe the Word Scripture Writing Plan.
Imagine your life like that of a butterfly. Before Christ, you were this bizarre little caterpillar. For the most part, a little creepy, a little bit ugly (sorry, if you love caterpillars LOL), and not much to look at.
That old sinful nature . . . that caterpillar . . .was crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20). Your sinful nature was taken away and buried in a cocoon. Much like Christ was buried for us.
Aren't you glad that on the third day, He rose again? He rose again with New Life!
On the day you asked the Lord to live in your heart, you burst out of that cocoon of a grave, and started to fly like a butterfly into New Life. The New Life of Christ is a beautiful thing. It is freedom. It is grace. It is peace. It is love.
It isn't always easy, but we have a Master who intercedes at the right hand of God for us. Our Creator is always with us to guide our path as we fly with butterfly wings through this life.
